02 / In plain words

What Remarks block (CIIP form) means

Remarks is the explanations field in the Vanuatu CIIP form. Every role has it, but it must be completed for every child under 18.

It shows the child's name and the main applicant's name as parent. This way the Commission sees which applicant the child belongs to.

An empty Remarks field for a child is a common reason for a form to be returned.

A simple example

In the forms of two children we entered their names and their father's - the main applicant - in Remarks. The Commission accepted the file without questions.

Leaving Remarks empty on a child's form.

Complete it for every child under 18: the child's name and the main applicant's name as parent.

Naming the other parent instead of the main applicant.

Remarks must name the main applicant, even if the other parent is also in the application.

Writing names differently from the passport.

Copy the names in Latin letters exactly as in the passport, with no abbreviations or alternative spellings.
