01 / About the program

What the Grenada programme is

Grenada grants citizenship for a contribution to the National Transformation Fund (NTF) or for an investment in a government-approved project. The programme has run since 2013 under the Citizenship by Investment Act (No. 15 of 2013) and is administered by the state agency IMA Grenada.

01

The only Caribbean route to the E-2 visa in the United States

Grenada has a treaty of friendship, commerce and navigation with the United States, which means its citizens can apply for the E-2 investor visa. No other Caribbean citizenship programme offers that. Since 2019 the United States has required that the citizenship be held for at least three years before the E-2 application — we build that period into the plan from the start.

02

One contribution for a family of up to four

The contribution to the National Transformation Fund is $235,000. It covers the main applicant and up to three dependants: there is nothing extra to pay for a spouse and two children. Beyond that the price grows at published rates, not “by arrangement”.

03

The widest definition of family in the region

The application includes a spouse, children up to 30, parents, grandparents and unmarried siblings aged 18 and over. The programme sets no upper limit on the number of dependants.

04

A state programme under the law

The application is accepted only by a licensed local Grenadian agent: documents cannot be filed with the agency directly. The decision is taken by the minister on the recommendation of the CBIC committee after full due diligence.

03 / Why people apply

Why people obtain the Grenada passport

Grenada is not taken for a move to the island. It is taken as the key to two things its neighbours in the region do not have: a business visa to the United States and, at the same time, visa-free Europe, Britain and China in one document.

Business in the United States on an E-2 visa

Opening a company in the United States and living there with the family on an investor visa. Through Grenada that route appears where there is no direct path to an E-2. The programme has not accepted citizens of Russia and Belarus since 31 March 2023. We build the US three-year rule after the grant of citizenship into the plan from day one.

Europe and Britain without visas

Schengen for 90 days out of 180 and the United Kingdom for up to six months — with no visa centres and no appointments. For a family that travels to Europe often for business and study, that removes half the everyday friction.

China and the Asian markets

Grenada is one of the few countries with a mutual visa waiver with China. For shipments, exhibitions and negotiations that means direct entry with nothing to arrange in advance.

Three generations in one application

A spouse, children up to 30, parents, grandparents and even unmarried siblings obtain citizenship together with the applicant. No other Caribbean programme offers a family that wide.

Study and medicine

St George’s University operates on the island — an American medical school whose graduates take up residencies in clinics in the United States and the United Kingdom. For citizens of Grenada the admission terms and the cost differ from those for foreigners.

A plan B for the family

A second document for when the first stops solving the task: banks, flights, transactions, insurance against a change of circumstances. The decision is taken once and works afterwards without your involvement.

The calculation shows the amount under programme rules and does not confirm eligibility: the checks decide that. Applications are not accepted from nationals and residents of several countries, including Russia and Belarus; a second citizenship or residence elsewhere does not lift the restriction by itself. The 30-day presence requirement in Grenada is not in force yet. Rates checked on 30 October 2026. IMA Circular No. 1 of 2024, IMA Circular No. 2 of 2026.

Calculated from the official fee table of the Investment Migration Agency Grenada (updated 21 May 2026) and SRO No. 12 of 2024. Due diligence is $5,000 and the interview a separate $1,000 for everyone aged 17 and over; the $6,000 in the agency Q&A is their sum, and we do not charge it twice. Intermediaries write about a future increase in the due diligence fee; there is no official decision as at 30 October 2026, so we confirm the amount on the filing date. The calculation is not a decision of a state authority.

06 / Comparison

Grenada against its neighbours in the region

The five Caribbean programmes are similar in amount and timeline, so the choice usually comes down to two lines: the E-2 visa to the United States and who can be taken into the application. The full comparison of every programme sits on its own page.

We doYou doThe state is involved
  1. Before filing

The consultation and the preliminary check

We go through your situation: the family, the sources of funds, the documents you hold, the plans for an E-2 visa. We run a preliminary check to make sure the situation meets the requirements of the programme before the work begins.

    We do
    • Review of family composition and funds
    • Preliminary screening
    • Review of E-2 visa plans
    You do

    Tell us about your situation

  2. Choosing the option and preparing the documents

We settle between the NTF fund and an approved project and draw up a personal checklist. We prepare the full package: translations into English, notarial certifications, apostilles, police clearance certificates and a medical report.

    We do
    • Choice: the NTF fund or a project
    • Personal checklist
    • Translations, notarisation, apostille
    You do

    Hand over the documents

  3. Filing and checks

    Filing through a licensed agent

We hand the package to a local Grenadian agent: documents cannot be filed with the agency directly. The agent files the application with the executive office of the CBIC committee and handles all the correspondence on your case.

State involved: Investment Migration Agency Grenada

    We do
    • Handing the file to the agent
    • Filing control
    • Correspondence on the file
    You do

Nothing: we handle this stage entirely

  4. Due diligence and the interview

The state carries out full screening through independent contractors. Every participant aged 17 and over takes an interview - online under the rules in force. The committee prepares a recommendation and the minister takes the decision.

State involved: the CBIC committee and the minister

    We do
    • Answers to requests
    • Online interview preparation
    You do

    Take the interview

  5. After the decision

Approval and payment of the investment

After approval a letter arrives requiring the fund contribution or completion of the purchase of a share in a project. Once the payment is confirmed the certificate of registration is issued - and that is the citizenship.

    We do
    • Review of the approval letter
    • Payment details and transfer
    • Certificate of registration
    You do

    Transfer the funds

  6. The passport

On the basis of the certificate the agent applies for the passport: it is issued within days and sent by courier to a place convenient for you. The passport is biometric and valid for five years.

    We do
    • Passport application
    • Courier delivery of passports

All countries on a Grenada passport

140+ destinations with nothing to arrange in advance: visa-free or with a visa on arrival

Where you are admitted without a visa, where the permit is arranged online, where the visa is issued at the border and where a consular visa is needed — with the length of stay given for each country.

The basis: the visa waiver agreement between the European Union and Grenada was signed on 28 May 2015 and applies to short trips. The United Kingdom keeps visa-free entry for citizens of Grenada with an ETA (GOV.UK). The possibility of applying for an E-2 visa follows from the treaty of friendship, commerce and navigation between the United States and Grenada; since 2019 the United States has required that the treaty-country citizenship be held for at least three years before the application. Entry rules are set by the receiving states and may change at any time.

Preliminary Due Diligence before the contract

Fill in a questionnaire about yourself, your activity and your sources of funds. BRIDGES compliance officers will run a preliminary check and identify which circumstances may raise questions when the application is reviewed or the funds are transferred. You do not need to attach documents at this stage.

Start the check
  • No obligations
  • Confidential
  • NDA on first request
What information you will need

The questionnaire has eight sections. The key ones are your activity, the source of funds and legal circumstances.

  1. Applicant
  2. Citizenship and residence
  3. Professional activity
  4. Source of funds
  5. Banks and transfer of funds
  6. Public status and sanctions
  7. Legal circumstances
  8. Program and family members

What you receive

  1. 1
An assessment of sanctions and reputational risks

We check information about you and your business against sanctions lists and open sources, including media and online publications. We explain which circumstances may affect the review of the application.

  2. 2
An assessment of the sources of funds

We look at how your capital was built and where the funds for the program will come from. We tell you which documents will be needed to confirm their lawful origin.

  3. 3
A check of the planned payment

We assess from which account, through which banks and to whom the funds will be transferred. We identify possible restrictions in advance and tell you what to prepare to reduce the risk of a delay, return or block of the payment.

After you send the questionnaire we will contact you by phone or messenger. The assessment is preliminary: the decision on the application is made by the competent authorities of Grenada, and on the payment by the banks involved.

11 / Our role

Why people obtain Grenada citizenship with us

We have worked since 2004. In that time more than 8,000 families have come through us. The Caribbean programmes are one of our key directions, and we run Grenada with an eye on what comes after the passport.

01

Working through a licensed agent

An application for Grenada citizenship is accepted only by a local agent licensed by the minister. We run the client together with such an agent and answer for the set of documents — that is not an option but the only lawful way to file.

02

A straight assessment before the start

Before the work begins we run a preliminary check. If we see a risk of refusal we say so plainly and propose an alternative. We do not take on cases we are not confident in.

03

The E-2 route is worked out in advance

Grenada is often taken for business in the United States. We build in the US requirement of three years after the grant of citizenship from the start, prepare the investment structure and handle the E-2 application as a second stage, with the same team.

04

The full cycle, including life after the passport

Renewing the document, opening an account, registering a company, adding family members, tax questions. We stay with the client after the passport is issued.

12 / Team

Who runs the Grenada citizenship process

A Grenada application is run not by a “sales manager” but by a permanent team: the programme lawyer, a compliance specialist and a family coordinator. You know them all by name from day one.

TimelineOfficial decisions

What has changed in the programme

  1. 30 April 2026

Five Caribbean programmes - Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and Saint Lucia - announced a common presence requirement: 30 days in the country over the five years after citizenship is granted, plus biometrics and an in-person or video interview. The changes are planned for the second half of 2026; applications filed before the rules take effect are considered under the current conditions.

  2. 2025

Further amendments to the programme regulations were adopted (SRO No 21 of 2025). The full list of legislation in force is published by the Investment Migration Agency Grenada in its Legal and Finance section.

  3. 1 July 2024

The Citizenship by Investment (Amendment) Regulations 2024 came into force: the minimum share in an approved project was raised from $220,000 to $270,000, and the minimum contribution to the National Transformation Fund is $235,000. The property holding period remained five years.

17 / Questions

Answers to common questions

Under the rules in force, no. The agency states expressly that you do not have to visit the country before, during or after the process, and the interview is held online. At the same time five Caribbean programmes have announced a presence requirement — 30 days over the five years after citizenship is granted; the changes are expected in the second half of 2026 and will not affect applications filed before they take effect.

Yes, and it is the only Caribbean programme with that possibility: Grenada has a treaty with the United States that opens the E-2 investor visa. An important condition: since 2019 the United States has required that the treaty-country citizenship be held for at least three years before the visa application. So the route is built in advance, not “for a deal next month”.

A spouse, children up to 30, parents, grandparents and unmarried siblings aged 18 and over. The programme sets no upper limit on the number of dependants. The $235,000 contribution covers the applicant and three dependants; parents and grandparents aged 55 and under and siblings are paid for separately whatever the composition — the calculator above takes that into account.

The agency undertakes to consider a complete file within 60 working days provided the screening is passed, and the passport is issued within days of the request. With the collection and legalisation of documents the whole path takes from three to six months. The programme has no expedited procedure for a surcharge.

The contribution to the National Transformation Fund from $235,000 is non-refundable, but it is the simplest and most predictable route. A share in an approved project costs from $270,000 plus a $50,000 government contribution: it is a share in a tourism project unit held together with other investors, not a separate apartment. A whole unit starts at $350,000 plus the same contribution. A share or a unit can be sold no earlier than five years after citizenship is granted, and buyer and price are not guaranteed. Taxes, registration and ownership costs are set by the contract of the specific project.

Yes. Grenada permits dual citizenship and does not require you to give up your current passport. It is worth checking separately how the law of your current country of citizenship treats a second citizenship.

The Grenada passport is biometric and valid for five years. Renewal does not require a further contribution: under the law a citizen is entitled to a passport and cannot be refused one. We prepare and coordinate the renewal for our clients.

Yes. The visa waiver agreement with the European Union was signed on 28 May 2015: the Schengen area is available for 90 days out of every 180. Yes. A spouse, children and other dependants can be added after citizenship has been granted, through a separate procedure under the rules in force, paying the fees for each person added. There is no deadline for that.
