Because a time-limited discount of $25,000 applies: the contribution for the main applicant is $90,000 for applications filed before 31 December 2026 and $115,000 after. The applicable rate is set by the date the application is filed, not by the date of the consultation or of signing the agreement.

The application filing fee is $5,000 for the main applicant and $2,000 for each dependant. The due diligence check is $6,000 for the main applicant and $3,000 for each dependant from the age of 16. The bank check with the transfer charge runs from $1,200 to $2,200 depending on the number of dependants. The passport fee is $500 per passport. Translations, apostilles and the agent’s fee are counted separately.

That is how the official Nauru fee table works: the additional contribution of $2,000 and the due diligence fee of $3,000 are charged for dependants from the age of 16. It differs from most programmes, where the threshold is 18, and it noticeably affects the final amount for a family with teenagers.

For each brother or sister of the main applicant or the spouse the contribution is $15,000. That is a separate rate — higher than the top-up for other dependants — and it has to be budgeted for in advance.

No. The contribution to the treasury fund of Nauru is non-refundable and the official materials of the programme contain no mechanism for returning part of the amount. If you are offered an option with a return, the legal basis for it should be confirmed in writing before the agreement is signed.

The programme sets no residence requirement and the filing process runs without a visit. The oath of allegiance is taken in person, by video link or before a notary. The main applicant goes through an interview with the screening company — virtually or in person.

No. The United Kingdom introduced a visa requirement for citizens of Nauru from 9 December 2025 and closed the ETA electronic authorisation to them. Nauru is listed in Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2018/1806 with a footnote: the visa exemption applies only from the date a visa waiver agreement with the European Union enters into force, so we do not claim visa-free Schengen for this passport.

Not in itself. Citizenship does not end tax obligations in other countries and does not automatically make the applicant a tax resident of Nauru. Residency is determined by the law of the particular countries and by the actual circumstances — where you live, the centre of your vital interests and the number of days in the year.

The official materials of the programme give the validity of the Nauru passport as 10 years for every applicant, children included.

The decision is taken by the competent authority of the Republic of Nauru following the compulsory screening, and a complete file does not mean automatic approval.
