02 / In plain words

What Vanuatu due diligence fee means

The due diligence fee pays for the state FIU check. It is charged per application, not per family member.

Under the contribution programme (DSP) the fee is $5,000 on top of the contribution. Under the fund programme (CIIP) it is $8,000, already included in the $165,000 for a family of up to four.

The fee is paid before the check and is not refunded on refusal, which is why we run our own pre-check first.

A simple example

A family of five under the contribution programme pays one $5,000 fee, not $25,000.

05 / Key facts

Key facts

01Due diligence fee

Payment for the government background check

The check is done by Vanuatu's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). The applicant pays the fee by invoice, first of all payments, at submission.

02DSP donation program

$5,000 once per application

The fee is added to the donation: for example, one person pays a $130,000 donation and a $5,000 fee, $135,000 in total.

03CIIP fund program

$8,000, already included in $165,000

A family of up to four pays $157,000 on the fund program invoice plus the $8,000 fee, $165,000 in total. The $8,000 is not added on top again.

04If refused

The fee is not refunded

The money pays for the check itself, not for the outcome. That is why we run our own preliminary check of the applicant and family before the fee is paid.

Common mistakes

Multiplying the fee by the number of family members

The fee is charged once per application. A family of five under DSP pays $5,000, not $25,000.

Adding $8,000 on top of $165,000 in the fund program

The $8,000 is already in the $165,000: that is $157,000 for the fund program plus the fee. Only the surcharge from the fifth person is added on top.

Paying the fee without a preliminary check

Go through the agent's preliminary check first. If there is a risk of refusal, it is better to know before paying, because the fee is not refunded.

Check the risks before the fee, so you do not lose it on an obvious refusal.

What we do for you. We include the fee in the estimate and do not let you pay it until the risks are checked.
