ETIAS
ETIAS 2026: 59 passports that will need an authorisation
Visa-exempt travellers to Schengen will need an electronic authorisation once ETIAS starts. No launch date has been announced yet.
- 01
ETIAS is an electronic travel authorisation for 30 European countries for visa-exempt travellers. It is not a visa.
- 02
The system is not yet operating and no applications are accepted. The EU will announce the start date several months in advance (official website, 03.10.2026).
- 03
The fee is EUR 20. Travellers under 18 and over 70 pay no fee but still need an authorisation.
- 04
The authorisation is valid for 3 years or until the passport expires. Stays of up to 90 days in any 180 days.
- 05
Apply only on the official EU website. Sites already taking applications are not official.
