What FIU letter means
The FIU letter is the result of the state due diligence check. It opens the next step: filing the full set with the Citizenship Commission.
The full file is submitted within 1 month of the letter. The letter number goes into part 2 of the CIIP form - so those fields are completed only after the check result.
It is convenient to collect the Commission documents in parallel with the check, so the month is not spent collecting.
A simple example
While the check was running, the family collected all documents. The letter came on Monday, and by Friday the file was with the Commission.

02Filing deadline
Within 1 month of the letter
The full set must reach the Commission within that month. If you are late, the check may have to be redone.
03CIIP fund programme form
The letter number goes into part 2
The part 2 fields about the check are completed only after the result. Until the letter arrives, leave them blank.
04Due diligence fee
DSP $5,000, CIIP $8,000 per application
The fee is paid first, at filing, against an invoice from the government checking body. It covers the whole family, not each person.
Common mistakes
Starting to collect documents only after the letter
Collect the Commission documents while the check is running. Then the month after the letter goes on filing, not on chasing certificates.
Completing the check fields before the result
The FIU letter number goes into part 2 of the CIIP form only once the letter has arrived. Until then, leave those fields blank.
Missing the one-month window
File the full set within 1 month of the letter. If you are late, the check may have to be redone and the whole application takes longer.
