02 / In plain words
What Vanuatu police clearance means
Police Clearance is the criminal record certificate Vanuatu issues to its citizen. It is obtained after citizenship, when needed for a bank, a residence permit or a deal.
Banks, immigration authorities (for example for a Greek residence permit) and deal counterparties ask for it. We arrange it remotely, with no trip to the islands.
If it is needed in a Hague Convention country, we add an apostille; elsewhere it needs consular legalisation. Each copy gets its own apostille.

05 / Key facts
Key facts
01Who it is for
A Vanuatu citizen, after citizenship is granted
It is Vanuatu's criminal record certificate for its own citizen. You apply for it when a bank, residence application or transaction calls for it.
02Who asks for it
Banks, immigration authorities, transaction parties
For example, a Vanuatu citizen applying for Greek residence needs a Vanuatu certificate, not only one from their home country.
03How to get it
Remotely, with no trip to the islands
We obtain the certificate from Vanuatu for you, so there is no need to fly. You receive it with the legalisation required.
04Legalisation
A separate apostille on each copy
Hague Convention countries need an apostille; other countries need consular legalisation. If you need the certificate in two places, each copy gets its own apostille.
Common mistakes
Confusing it with your home country's certificate
Your home country's certificate is filed with the citizenship application. The Vanuatu one is issued later, once you are a citizen and a bank, authority or counterparty asks for it.
Flying to the islands to get it
We arrange the certificate remotely. There is no need to travel to Vanuatu.
Ignoring legalisation for the destination country
Check where the certificate is going: Hague Convention countries need an apostille, others need consular legalisation. Each copy is apostilled separately.
