What Citizen Service Centre (KEP) means
A Citizen Service Centre (in Greek Κέντρο Εξυπηρέτησης του Πολίτη, ΚΕΠ, "KEP") is a state centre where one desk accepts applications for several Cypriot authorities at once.
For a foreign investor two KEP services matter: certification of signatures and copies, and apostilles on Cypriot documents. An apostille costs €5, the same as at the Ministry of Justice. Signature certification costs €5-40 depending on page count. The centres work by appointment.
KEP is useful when a document has to be certified and apostilled in one visit, such as a power of attorney or a certificate going abroad. You cannot file a PR application at KEP - only the Migration Department accepts it.
A simple example
A client needs a certified power of attorney for use in his home country. At KEP he signs it in front of the officer, and in the same visit it receives a €5 apostille. The document is ready to use abroad.
When KEP is useful
