02 / In plain words

What Income affidavit means

An income affidavit (in Greek Ένορκη Δήλωση) is a written sworn statement in which the applicant declares their annual income and its sources. The Migration Department publishes the form on gov.cy.

The criteria require a secure annual income: €50,000 for the applicant, plus €15,000 for a spouse and €10,000 for each child under 18. Sources include salary, pension, dividends, interest and rent, and the spouse's income counts. The affidavit is filed with a tax return from the country of tax residence or an independent auditor's certificate.

The signature on the affidavit is certified: in Cyprus by a certifying officer, abroad by a Cyprus consul or a notary with an apostille. Annual income confirmation after PR is granted is no longer required - that rule has been abolished.

A simple example

A couple with two children needs €85,000 a year. The husband receives €60,000 in dividends and the wife €30,000 in salary - €90,000 together. The affidavit with tax returns confirms the income, and we have the signature certified in Cyprus.
