How much St Kitts and Nevis passport replacement costs in 2026: government fees, discount and a family estimate

Contents
If you obtained St Kitts and Nevis citizenship through the investment programme, you will need to replace your passport with a biometric one within the next year. The first question is always the same: how much does it cost for the whole family? The answer has three parts. A government fee for each person, the agent’s work and delivery of the finished passport. Below I have taken each part apart using the official fees as of 23 October 2026, calculated typical family sizes and shown where you can save without putting the timing at risk. If you want to go straight to the practical side, our terms are on the St Kitts and Nevis passport replacement page.
In short
- Government fee: USD 2,500 for the main applicant aged 16 and over, USD 2,000 for a second adult, USD 1,300 for a child under 16. The fee already covers both biometrics and passport production.
- 10% discount: when the booking is made and biometrics completed between 20 July and 31 December 2026. The main applicant pays USD 2,250, a second adult USD 1,800, a child USD 1,170. Standard fees resume on 1 January 2027.
- Paid separately from the government fee: the agent’s work, courier delivery of the passport, translations and certification where needed, and travel to the centre.
- BRIDGES support starts from EUR 1,000. Translations, notarisation and apostille, where your family needs them, are included in the quote.
- A family of two adults and two children under 16 booking before the end of the year pays USD 6,390 in government fees instead of USD 7,100.
What the cost of passport replacement is made of
Let us start with the main point: replacing your passport is not the same as obtaining citizenship. Your citizenship stays the same, you are not reviewed again and you do not invest again. On 14 April 2026 the Government of St Kitts and Nevis launched the National Biometric Enrolment and Passport Modernisation Programme. Everyone who obtained citizenship through the programme, including spouses and children, must complete biometrics by 31 July 2027. After that date, programme passports issued before 14 April 2026 will no longer be accepted for international travel.
That is why the price is different from citizenship. The state charges for biometrics and producing a new passport, not for the status. The Citizenship Unit calls this fee all-inclusive: biometrics and the passport upgrade are one amount. Since 1 September 2026 biometrics and passport production have been a single process, and there is no separate passport fee on top.
Everything that does not go to the state is paid separately. In its 2 September 2026 announcement the Unit stated plainly that the government fee excludes passport delivery and agent fees. These are three separate lines of the budget, and each is worth agreeing in advance.

Government fee: the 2026 fee table
The fees are published in the biometrics section of the Citizenship Unit website. They depend on the person’s category in the family. The main applicant is the adult aged 16 or over in whose name citizenship was originally granted. The second adult is usually the spouse. Children under 16 pay the child rate, while teenagers aged 16 and over count as adults.
| Who | Standard | 20.07 to 31.12.2026 | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main applicant aged 16+ | USD 2,500 | USD 2,250 | biometrics and passport production |
| Second adult | USD 2,000 | USD 1,800 | biometrics and passport production |
| Child under 16 | USD 1,300 | USD 1,170 | biometrics and passport production |
| London VIP Suite | +USD 500 | +USD 500 | private slot and lounge, the whole family in one visit |
Payment is made only on the government platform at the time of booking. The government allows no other way: booking and payment through any third-party platform is prohibited. If you are asked to transfer the government fee to an intermediary’s account, treat it as a warning sign.
The government table uses the phrase “second adult applicant”. How the portal charges a third or further adult in the family, for example an adult daughter or the main applicant’s parents, is best checked at the moment of booking. We do this before payment so there are no surprises in the budget.
What this means for you. The government fee for one adult is USD 2,500 and for a child USD 1,300. Biometrics and passport production are already inside this amount; you do not pay for the passport separately.

The 10% discount until 31 December 2026: how not to miss it
From 20 July to 31 December 2026 a 10% discount applies to government fees. The main applicant pays USD 2,250 instead of USD 2,500. For a family of four the saving is USD 710, for a family of five USD 840.
The discount has three conditions worth reading carefully. First, it applies only to new bookings. Second, the booking must not only be made but also completed in this window, meaning biometrics must be done by 31 December 2026. Paying in December and giving fingerprints in January will not work. Third, the discount is not retroactive and will not be extended beyond 31 December. Standard fees resume on 1 January 2027.
ciu.gov.kn, biometrics section, as of 23 October 2026
The practical conclusion follows. If you plan to replace your passport in the coming months, it pays to do it in 2026. But do not chase the discount at the cost of a mistake in your documents. We advise clients to start preparing documents now, in October and November, and to plan the booking for November and early December. Before the holidays there are fewer free dates at the centres, especially in Istanbul and Dubai.
What this means for you. To get the discount, book and complete biometrics by 31 December 2026. Paying without visiting the centre does not keep the discount.
A family estimate: from one person to five
Below are the government fees for the most common family sizes. Only the government part is included. The agent’s work, delivery and travel are added separately. We used the published table: the first adult at the main applicant rate, the second at the second adult rate, children under 16 at the child rate.
| Family | Standard fees | Discounted fees | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| One adult | USD 2,500 | USD 2,250 | USD 250 |
| Two adults | USD 4,500 | USD 4,050 | USD 450 |
| An adult and a child under 16 | USD 3,800 | USD 3,420 | USD 380 |
| Two adults and a child | USD 5,800 | USD 5,220 | USD 580 |
| Two adults and two children | USD 7,100 | USD 6,390 | USD 710 |
| Two adults and three children | USD 8,400 | USD 7,560 | USD 840 |
An example from practice. A father with a valid passport and a six-year-old son whose passport has expired. Both enrol in Istanbul. Discounted government fees are USD 2,250 for the father and USD 1,170 for the son, USD 3,420 in total. Support and delivery are added to this. For the child, the identification document has to be sorted out in advance; see our article on biometrics for children.
A second example is a family of five: two adults, a 17-year-old daughter and two younger children. The daughter aged 16 and over pays the adult rate. Exactly how the portal will charge her as a third adult we check at booking. If at the second adult rate, discounted government fees come to USD 8,190. The main saving here is not the fee but a single trip: we book all five on the same day at one centre.

What is paid on top of the government fee
On top of the government fee, a budget usually has four more lines. Their size depends on your family, your documents and the chosen centre.
| Cost | How much | Paid to |
|---|---|---|
| Government fee | per the table above | the government, on the portal at booking |
| Agent work and support | at BRIDGES from EUR 1,000 | under the contract |
| Passport delivery | courier rate, quoted in the estimate | the courier |
| Translations and notarisation | depends on the number of documents | included in the BRIDGES quote |
| Apostille | only if the document's origin requires it | included in the BRIDGES quote |
| Travel to the centre | flights and accommodation | yourself |
| London VIP Suite | USD 500 | optional |
The agent’s work. The government requires every existing citizen to appoint an authorised agent. The agent provides a personalised registration link and code, confirms the booking in their portal and helps with questions about the application. Without the agent’s confirmation the booking is not final. The cost of support varies widely on the market, and it is worth comparing by scope of work rather than by a single figure.
Delivery. Passports are produced centrally in St Kitts at the Passport Office. A finished passport cannot be collected at a biometric centre, embassy or high commission. So the passport is sent by courier. The price depends on the country and the courier, and we quote it in the estimate before work starts. If the whole family’s passports travel in one envelope, you pay once.
Translations, certification and apostille. Since 1 September 2026 documents are uploaded to the government portal after notarisation. If a birth or marriage certificate is not in English, a translation will be needed. Whether an apostille is needed depends on the country that issued the document. More on this in our article on documents for passport replacement.
Travel. You do not have to go to St Kitts: biometrics is taken in Istanbul, London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and ten other centres. Flights and accommodation are paid by you. How to choose a centre is covered in our piece on biometric centres.
What this means for you. Compare offers by the full budget: government fee, support, translations, delivery. A low support price without translations and delivery can end up costing more.
What our work for EUR 1,000 includes
Our passport replacement work starts from EUR 1,000. We fix the exact amount in the contract before work begins; it depends on the number of people in the family and how many documents need to be translated and certified.
- We review the passports, citizenship certificates and birth certificates of every family member and find discrepancies in name spellings and dates.
- We complete the application on the government portal and upload the documents.
- We arrange translations, notarisation and apostille where they are really needed. This is included in our quote.
- We choose the centre and date, book the whole family and obtain the booking confirmation.
- We prepare you for the visit: which originals to bring, how to dress for the photo, what to do with a child.
- We follow passport production, check the data in the new passport and arrange delivery.
You pay the government fee yourself on the portal; we do not take it into our account. This is what the government requires, and it is more transparent for you.
How to save without risking the timing
- Do it in 2026. The 10% discount saves USD 250 to 840 depending on the family.
- Book the whole family on one day at one centre. Two trips cost more than any discount.
- Send the family’s passports in one shipment. The courier charges per envelope, not per passport.
- Do not order extras. An apostille and new copies of certificates are not always needed; check what you already have first.
- Choose the centre for convenience, not prestige. The London VIP Suite is comfortable but costs USD 500 extra, while a standard booking in Istanbul or Dubai has no surcharge.
A word on timing. The government states 4-6 weeks for passport production after biometrics, plus delivery time. If an important trip is ahead, plan the replacement so the old passport stays with you until then. At biometrics the passport is presented for identification only and is not surrendered.
Refunds and rescheduling
Under the portal rules, once a booking is confirmed the government fee is generally non-refundable. Exceptions exist for technical errors such as a double charge. A booking can be rescheduled, but no later than 72 hours before the visit and subject to free places at the centre.
So choose the visit date realistically: with time for travel, children’s school holidays and work commitments. We usually offer the client two or three dates and pay for the booking only after they are agreed.
What this means for you. A mistake in the date costs more than any surcharge. Agree the whole family’s travel before paying, not after.
Bottom line
Replacing a St Kitts and Nevis passport costs USD 2,500 for the main applicant, USD 2,000 for a second adult and USD 1,300 for a child. A 10% discount applies until 31 December 2026. Support, delivery, translations and travel are added on top. For a family of four the government part comes to USD 6,390 if booked this year. The full biometrics guide is in our article on St Kitts and Nevis biometrics, and the programme terms are on the St Kitts and Nevis citizenship page.
