Vanuatu Passport Renewal
Vanuatu passportrenewal
Bridges Global processes renewals of valid and expired Vanuatu passports for adults and children. The service includes document review, application preparation, filing with the Passport Office, case handling and delivery of the completed passport.
- Renewal of adult and child passports
- We accept clients regardless of the agent that arranged citizenship
- Documents and filing are handled from abroad

01 / When to renew
When it is time to renew a Vanuatu passport
Use the expiry date printed in the passport as the starting point. Filing from abroad, sending originals and issuing the new document take time, so renewal should be planned in advance.
Several months before expiry
It is rational to start early: destination countries require remaining validity, and a passport with little time left is already unusable for travel.
Check each family passport separately
Family passports may have different issue and expiry dates. We therefore prepare a separate renewal calendar for adults and children.
An expired passport does not end citizenship
Expiry of the document itself does not terminate citizen status. But an expired passport cannot be used for travel or bank verification — a new document is issued.
Renewal is easy to combine
Alongside the renewal we update children’s documents, register data changes and close accumulated questions — in one matter.
02 / Situations
Which passports come in for renewal
Typical planned renewal situations.
The passport expires this year
A planned renewal in advance — before the document loses practical validity.
A child passport is expiring
The five-year term is ending — we renew the child document, together with the adults’ if needed.
Trips are coming up
Visas and flights are planned — the passport must keep enough validity for the whole journey.
The whole family renews
The family’s passports expire on close dates — the renewal runs as one matter with one set of forms.
03 / Special cases
Renewal with complications: name change, new first passport, long expiry
Not every renewal follows the standard track. Three situations that require extra steps — we take them within the same matter.
The name has changed
Marriage, divorce or a name change: the change is first registered in the Vanuatu registers, then a passport with the new data is issued. We check the name spelling across all documents.
The first-citizenship passport has changed
If the details of your first passport changed, discrepancies between documents are resolved before filing — otherwise the authority returns the file for rework.
The passport expired long ago
After a long lapse, the current citizen status is first confirmed against the registers, the certificate is restored if needed — and only then is a new passport issued.

A passport renewal starts several months before the date in the document
04 / Scope of work
What the renewal support includes
We run the matter end to end — from data verification to handing over the new passport.
Data and document verification
We check the passport, the certificate of citizenship and the name spelling across all documents — discrepancies are fixed before filing.
Form preparation
We complete the passport forms to the authority’s requirements and prepare photographs to specification with the supporting set.
Filing through a licensed agent
The file goes to the competent Vanuatu authority by the established route; we answer the authority’s requests.
Issue and delivery
We track the issue, receive the document and pass it to you in the way the process provides.
05 / Cost
Cost of the renewal
The quote is built from the government tariff and the work on the matter.
Government tariff
The fee depends on the applicant’s age and processing priority. Vanuatu government websites currently publish different fee tables, so we confirm the applicable amount against the Passport Office invoice before filing.
Number of applicants
Each passport is a separate set of forms: the quote depends on whether one person or the whole family renews.
Complexity of the matter
A name change, a long lapse or certificate restoration add steps — they are priced separately.
Delivery and support
Courier delivery of documents and BRIDGES case handling — from verification to passport handover.
The final quote follows the document review. We never treat unpublished fees as zero — the authority’s current invoice is confirmed before filing.
06 / How the renewal works
How the renewal works
Four steps — from data verification to the issue of the new passport.
Data verification
We review the current passport, the certificate of citizenship and the register records. We determine whether this is a standard renewal or a matter with extra steps.
Forms and file
We prepare the passport forms, photographs and supporting documents and align the file with the licensed agent.
Filing
The file is submitted to the competent Vanuatu authority. We answer requests and track the review.
Issue
The new passport is issued and delivered to you. The old document is cancelled under the authority’s rules.
Timelines depend on the Vanuatu passport authority and are not guaranteed: we give an estimate after reviewing the documents.
07 / Documents
What we need from you
The basic set for a planned renewal. The exact list is confirmed after the case review.
Current Vanuatu passport
Or the expired one — then status confirmation against the registers is added.
Certificate of citizenship
A copy of the Certificate of Citizenship. If the certificate is lost, we restore it first.
First-citizenship passport
A valid travel passport for verifying personal data.
Photographs
Recent photographs to the passport authority’s specification — we send the parameters.
Change documents
Marriage, divorce or name change certificates — if the data has changed.
Power of attorney
Where the process requires it — prepared from the template we provide.
08 / Team
Who runs the renewal
The matter is handled by the Caribbean and Pacific programs department. A licensed Vanuatu agent files the case; BRIDGES coordinates.

Passport renewal questions
It is rational to start several months before expiry: destination countries require remaining validity, and the remote process takes longer than a replacement inside the country.
Preparation and coordination can be handled remotely. Whether filing can be completed without a personal visit depends on the applicant’s circumstances and the current document acceptance route. We confirm this before work begins.
Citizenship does not end — a new document is issued. After a long lapse, the status is first confirmed against government registers, then the passport is issued.
The government fee depends on the applicant’s age and processing priority. As official websites currently publish different fee tables, we confirm the applicable amount against the Passport Office invoice. The full quote also reflects the number of applicants, delivery and complexity.
A separate application is filed for a child, and a parent or legal guardian provides consent. The renewal date is determined from the expiry date printed in the child’s passport.
Yes, and it is more convenient: one matter, one coordinator, aligned timing. Each passport still has its own set of forms and is paid per person under the tariff.
No, a step is added: the change is first registered in the Vanuatu registers, and only then is a passport with the new data issued. We check the name spelling across all documents.
Yes. Taking the matter on depends on whether the status can be confirmed against Vanuatu government registers, not on which agent handled the initial application.
The previous document is cancelled under the passport authority’s rules. The blank return procedure depends on the process — we explain it before filing.
