Translating and preparingdocuments worldwide

We translate personal, corporate, banking and legal documents and prepare them for use in another country: certification, the apostille, consular legalisation and international delivery.

BRIDGES GLOBAL arranges the translation of documents between international language pairs and settles the form of certification needed for the particular country, state body, bank or other procedure. If the source document does not exist, we can separately arrange for it to be obtained in the country of issue and prepare the full set that follows.

Choosing by purpose

Which procedure the documents are needed for

A client does not have to know whether they need a sworn, a certified or a notarised translation: the form of certification is set by the procedure and the recipient’s requirements. Choose the purpose and we will put it into the order.

Hand over the documents — BRIDGES GLOBAL will check the requirements and settle the form of preparation needed.

Formats

One document in several versions

For international filing a document is often needed in more than one form: the translation, the certification and the mark go in a strict order set by the recipient.

01The original

The document issued by the authorised body of the country of issue.

02The translation

A translation in the language pair required with the names spelled correctly.

03The certification

Certified, sworn or notarial attestation of the translator’s signature.

04The apostille or legalisation

The form of recognition of the document abroad — before or after the translation.

05Ready to file

The set in the form the authority, the bank or the university accepts.

Questions and answers

Questions about translation and certification

A sworn translation is made by a translator entered on the register of a court or ministry — an institution that does not exist in every country. A certified translation is certified by the bureau or the translator. With notarial certification the notary attests the translator’s signature rather than the translation itself. Which is required is settled by the recipient of the document.

From the country and the procedure. State them in the order card — we will check the requirements of the authority, the bank or the university and name the format before the work starts.

It depends on the recipient’s requirements: some bodies accept an apostille on the original with the translation after, others require the translation and an apostille on a notarised copy. A mistake in the order wipes out the work, so the sequence is fixed in advance.

As they appear in the passport: a difference of one letter is a common reason for a refusal. We check the spelling of names and titles against the client’s passports and earlier documents.

A good scan is usually enough for the work, but the form of certification may require the original or a notarised copy. That is checked before the start.

A standard document takes a few working days; a family set or a corporate package is quoted separately. The certification and the apostille add the time of the body concerned.

The cost depends on the language pair, the volume, the form of certification and the urgency. Once the recipient’s requirements are checked we send an itemised estimate: the translation, the certification, the apostille or legalisation, the delivery.

Yes, that is the usual situation: a set is arranged as one project with one estimate and one timeline rather than as separate requests.

Yes. The documents of the applicant, the spouse and the children are run in one project — which makes it easier to watch the completeness of the set and the filing deadlines.

We arrange for it to be obtained in the country of issue and then the translation and the certification needed — in one chain, with no travel required of the client.

The translation itself does not, but recipients limit the age of the source certificates: often three to six months. We build the filing calendar around that.

Yes, international courier delivery with a tracking number is a separate item in the estimate.
