Client Story
Where they started
Dmitry represents a new generation that earns not in factories or offices, but on freelance marketplaces. He is a 3D visualizer: he creates realistic images of buildings and interiors for clients, primarily American, through the Upwork platform. By age twenty-two, he had accumulated substantial capital—approximately $210,000 of honestly earned money.
Why the standard route did not work
When he decided to invest it in a studio in Kadıköy (a district of Istanbul) and obtain a residence permit on this basis, he encountered an unexpected obstacle. The bank processing the transfer blocked it. The reason was not that the money was illicit, but how it appeared: income from freelancing, frequent payments from various clients, without a conventional employment contract and payroll statement, triggered a compliance alert as "non-transparent."
What BRIDGES had to solve
For Dmitry, it was a shock: the money was his, earned through his labor, visible in his Upwork account—yet the bank would not process it. The problem was in the form: freelance income does not resemble classical employment income, and it needed to be translated into a language the bank understands, otherwise any large transfer would be blocked.
Why a standard answer would not do
Dmitry contacted BRIDGES, understanding that the task was not to "prove the money exists"—it was in his account—but to structure his freelance income in a transparent, bank-comprehensible format so the transfer would process and the studio would become the basis for a residence permit.
I earned my money on Upwork doing visualization work for Americans—everything is legitimate, everything is visible in my account. But the bank went ahead and blocked the transfer: saying freelance income is unclear. I was shocked—the money is mine, but I cannot transfer it. Dmitry collected all my Upwork invoices, statements, translated the service agreements, wrote an explanation—and structured my freelance income in such a way that the bank accepted everything. The payment went through, I purchased the studio, and the residence permit was granted.
