Client's Story
Where they started
The client was considering Hurghada—a renowned Red Sea resort with year-round tourist arrivals. He was interested in properties that could be rented to vacationers and generate income in hard currency, rather than merely holding them for status purposes.
Why the standard route did not work
Simultaneously, he wanted Egyptian citizenship—an accessible second passport. His logic was the same as many prudent investors: if investing in Egyptian real estate, the property should generate hard currency income and provide a passport as well.
What BRIDGES had to solve
The citizenship by investment option provides for real estate from $300,000 with retained ownership for a specified period. However, a resort property must be selected with two objectives simultaneously: it must qualify under the program and be genuinely rentable to tourists, generating income. Not every attractive apartment by the sea meets both conditions.
Why a standard answer would not do
The client came to BRIDGES to combine income generation with a passport: to select a property in Hurghada that qualifies for citizenship, generates hard currency rental income, and to process the passport according to regulations.
I wanted property in Hurghada that could be rented to tourists and generate hard currency, plus an Egyptian passport. Igor and his team selected a property that meets the program requirements and is genuinely rented to vacationers, completed the transaction, and processed the citizenship. Now I have resort property with hard currency income and a second passport—achieved through a single investment. It's gratifying when an investment both generates returns and provides status.
