A Grenada citizen’s family

A Grenada passport for your child

A child born abroad to a Grenada citizen receives a first passport through a separate application. We collect the certificates, the parent’s certificate and the questionnaire, handle filing and the interview, and send the passport by courier.

Ask a question

A first passport application includes a questionnaire and an interview with a consular officer; at the embassy in the USA it is held by video call.

SituationsWho it is for

When a child needsa passport

Children included in the citizenship application already have passports. This service is for children born later.

01The child was born after citizenship

The Constitution of Grenada recognises as a citizen a child born abroad to a Grenada citizen. The passport is issued through a "child of a Grenadian" application.

02The parent is a citizen by naturalisation

The parent’s certificate of naturalisation or registration goes with the application. We check it before filing.

03The child needs to travel with the family

A Grenada passport gives the child the same travel conditions as the parents.

04The child is over 16

They apply themselves; parental consent is only needed under 16. The questionnaire and interview are required for any first passport.

QuestionsThe essentials

Questions about achild’s passport

The Constitution of Grenada recognises as a citizen a child born abroad to a Grenada citizen. For the passport this is shown by documents: the birth certificates of the child and the parent and the parent’s certificate. Before filing we check the documents for your case.

A "child of a Grenadian" application is a passport application, not a citizenship by investment case. At the embassy in the USA the passport fee for a child under 18 is $250.

Yes, for any first passport. At the embassy in the USA the interview is held by video call after the package is accepted.

No, that is a different procedure. The route for adult relatives depends on their status and your documents; we work it out for your case.

After the interview and review, production takes as long as a regular passport. We give the exact timeline once the package is accepted.
