Client Story
Where they started
The client is an entrepreneur whose market spans West Africa. Partners, clients, and projects were scattered across several countries in the region, and he needed to move between them freely, without visa complications at every border.
Why the standard route did not work
ECOWAS—the Economic Community of West African States—unites 15 countries, and one of its key advantages for citizens is freedom of movement throughout member states. This transforms the region into a single travel space: from Nigeria and Ghana to Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire, ECOWAS citizens move without visa barriers at each country border.
What BRIDGES had to solve
Sierra Leone is an ECOWAS member, and its passport, issued under the GO-FOR-GOLD program, grants this regional freedom. For an entrepreneur, this is a key asset: the ability to travel promptly to any country in the region without relying on visas. To be clear about the scope: this is freedom within ECOWAS, not global visa-free travel—visa requirements outside the region remain in place. But within West Africa, the passport opens the entire region.
Why a standard answer would not do
The client came to BRIDGES for precisely this freedom: to obtain Sierra Leone citizenship as an ECOWAS member state, enabling free movement across 15 West African countries for business purposes.
For business in West Africa I needed freedom of movement. Robert set up the passport and the company so that the whole region is open.
