Client's Story
Where they started
The family wanted to provide the young man—a student—with European status and a foundation for his future. Greece's Golden Visa was ideal: residence permit through real estate, Schengen access, opportunity to study and live in the EU without requirement for constant residence in the country.
Why the standard route did not work
Investment was to be made using grandfather's funds: he wanted to gift his grandson money to purchase real estate for visa status. The intention is noble and typical for families, but for verification it is a typical area of concern—a young man without personal income investing, with funds coming from another party.
What BRIDGES had to solve
It is important to understand: the problem is not that the money is from someone else—gifts between close relatives are legal and common. The problem arises if the gift is not formally documented and the grandfather's source of funds is not demonstrated. Then verification sees a young student with a large sum of unclear origin and closes the case.
Why a standard answer would not do
At BRIDGES, the family came to structure everything transparently: formally document the gift from grandfather to grandson and confirm where the grandfather's funds originated—so verification would have no questions about the capital source.
My grandfather wanted to gift me money for real estate in Greece so I would have European status. I'm a student with almost no personal income, and it immediately became clear that verification would ask: where did the money come from. Igor and his team properly documented everything—both the gift from my grandfather and confirmation of where his funds came from. It created a transparent chain. I received my residence permit without any questions about the money. The key was not to hide that these were grandfather's funds, but to honestly present the entire history.
