Where they started
The client approached us with a matter of principle: to obtain Egyptian citizenship not alone, but for the entire family at once. This included himself, his spouse, two children, and most importantly to him, his elderly parents. He did not want to leave his parents "behind" with only their previous passport; the entire idea of a second citizenship for him was about the family having a common backup safe haven.
Why the standard route did not work
There were two main questions. First—whether it was possible to include elderly parents in an application under a single investment without separate contributions for each person. Second—how much adding parents and children would extend the timeline; the client had heard stories about large families taking years to process and wanted to understand the realistic picture.
What BRIDGES had to solve
Both pieces of news were favorable. The Egyptian program allows family members, including parents, to be included in an application and processed under a single investment—no need to purchase a separate property or make separate contributions for each individual. Additionally, timelines in Egypt are one of the program's strengths: decisions are typically issued fairly quickly, and it is realistic to guide an entire family to passports in approximately six months rather than years.
Why a standard answer would not do
The task for BRIDGES was to carefully assemble the family package: properly document family relationships and family composition, prepare documents for all six individuals including the elderly parents, and process everyone under a single application without losing time. The goal was for the entire family—from children to parents—to receive Egyptian passports.
It was important for me that my parents obtain citizenship together with us, rather than be left out. I was worried about two things: that we would have to invest separately for them and that with such a large family we would be processing this for years. BRIDGES explained that parents could be included in a single investment, no separate contribution for each was necessary, and timelines in Egypt are short. They collected documents for all six of us, properly documented the family relationships, and processed everything in a single application. In approximately six months, everyone had their passports—me, my wife, our children, and both of my parents. This is exactly what I wanted: for the entire family to be together.
