Where they started
A Ukrainian family was planning their life in the EU: security, education for children, European rights. Greece through Golden Visa suited them both climatically and in terms of accessibility.
Why the standard route did not work
It's important to show the contrast we discussed in other cases in this series. Russian and Belarusian citizens cannot access Greece's Golden Visa since 2022 based on their passport—we first obtain a second passport from a non-sanctioned country for them. Ukrainian citizens do not need this: their passport is unrestricted, so the path is direct—without second citizenship and workarounds.

Why a standard answer would not do
At BRIDGES, we guided the client through the direct Golden Visa route: prepared documentation, assisted with bank accounts and fund transfers, selected and arranged real estate meeting program thresholds, and submitted for residence permit. Children were included in the application as family members.
We left as a family and wanted to establish ourselves in the EU so our children would grow up in Europe. BRIDGES told us that Ukrainians don't need a second passport—we apply for Greece's Golden Visa directly. We processed it for all of us—ourselves and our children. We obtained residence permits as a whole family. For us, this is about our children's future.
